Fun Cabinet Paint Colors

Benjamin Moore has over 3,500 paint colors to choose from. Sherwin Williams has over 1,700. It's no wonder that choosing paint colors is the part of design people struggle with the most. I've been doing a blog series about my favorite paint colors. To wrap things up, I'm sharing some fun cabinet paint colors. Check out my top 3 below!

Sherwin Williams Alexandrite

A striking shade of green. Bright, bold and cheerful, Alexandrite's fun-loving hue fills your home with positivity.

From the minute I stepped into Karene's home, I knew this is the color I wanted to use for her cabinets. My client isn't afraid of color and she wanted something fun and different. It turned out amazing and was just the facelift her kitchen needed. The green color is bold, but not too bright. Another beautiful painting job by Tabor + Company.

Sherwin Williams Frank Blue

A bold, energetic blue.

When April came to me about her primary bath project, I was on maternity leave. I was so excited about her project, I decided to head back to work! I'm so glad I did. Look at this stunning bathroom. Initially, she was thinking of some "safe" colors for the vanity. Think gray, etc. Randomly, she shared a navy vanity inspiration picture with me, claiming she'd "probably never do that, though." I took that and ran with it! My job is to encourage the risk-taking, and encourage stepping outside of your comfort zone. To be bold. I love that April trusted me enough to do this, and she even went a step further. Instead of choosing a navy, she chose this bold, beautiful blue hue. We paired that with this lovely patterned tile and it just MAKES this bathroom POP!

Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze

Rooted in nature, this brownish gray evokes a down-to-earth tranquility and a subtle sophistication that is hard to beat.

Urbane Bronze was Sherwin Williams' Color of the Year in 2021 and it's one of my all time favorite paint colors. It's so versatile, and I'd put it anywhere! You could use it in your bedroom, as an accent wall somewhere, a moody bathroom, or cabinets like we did here. For cabinets, it pairs well with champagne bronze cabinet pulls. It was a great moody color for the glam look we were going for in Jessica's kitchen.

Of course, there's so much more that goes into choosing paint colors! Get some sample paint swatches, hang them on on your wall with some painter's tape. Look at them for several days, at different times of day, in different lighting. Once you narrow down to 1-2, go buy the little sample size paint containers and paint a little bit on your wall to make sure you love it. I also like to search Pinterest to see the different applications of the paint color. You can also hire an interior decorator to help!
